As a Gold Award holder, Bun Queen, and ice climbing athlete, Janet Kung has supported Wild in the City for years. She returns as our event ambassador for the upcoming event, joining participants to explore the Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing districts.

Under the theme of the year, "City Weaver", participants will embark on a community exploration journey ranging from historic Hakka walled villages and revitalised buildings to traditional crafts and local stories. Every step helps weave the unique narrative of this neighborhood. In the promotional video, Janet took the lead and brought us to streets and alleys to uncover popular photo spots across Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing. How many of these spots do you recognise?

We warmly invite you to run through the community with us. Sign up for BOC Life Wild in the City Orienteering Challenge 2027 today!

On 25 October, AYP attended the "Mountaineering Safety Promotion Day cum Emergency Response Experience Day 2026" at Sha Tsui Road Playground, Tsuen Wan, where the atmosphere was thoroughly lively.

We should like to express our particular gratitude to Mr. Victor PANG Wing Seng, MH, JP, Commissioner of the Civil Aid Service and Vice-Chairman of the Award Council, and to Ms. Joyce CHAN, Director of AYP, for kindly visiting the AYP booth to offer their support and encouragement. We were likewise delighted to welcome so many hillwalkers and members of the public, including families, to the event, which contributed greatly to its lively atmosphere.

Our booth's "Mountaineering Outfit True or False" game proved highly popular, drawing a great many visitors to take up the challenge. While aiming and tossing the beanbags, participants also acquired practical knowledge of mountain safety — learning through play and departing with our special 65th Anniversary Edition souvenirs.

We should like to thank once again every guest and friend who came to support the AYP booth. As the autumn hiking season gets under way, please be reminded to put safety first when heading outdoors to explore and challenge yourselves.

Funded by the Ping Wo Fund and organised by the Hong Kong Award for Young People, the “No Gamble” Grandmaster – Life-Sized Board Game has, since its launch in October 2025, served 7 secondary schools and over 1,260 participants within one year.

Using a 10m × 10m life-sized board game, the programme combines Low Event adventure activities, simulated life scenarios, adventure challenges and quizzes to promote “Healthy Living, No Gambling Addiction.” Through coin-collecting and simulated life elements, participants develop financial management concepts, learn about the risks of emerging gambling channels, and learn about the Ping Wo Fund’s counselling and treatment services; they are also reminded to pass the information to those in need. Each session ends with a coach-led debriefing to reinforce proper financial management concepts and positive values.

Questionnaire data show significant results: over 90% of participants agreed that the activity helped them understand the negative impacts of gambling (including on individuals and families), learn about the Ping Wo Fund’s counselling and treatment services, and develop proper financial management concepts and positive values. We sincerely thank the Ping Wo Fund for its support, enabling AYP to contribute to preventing youth gambling addiction.
